Maria is born in Eikeland outside Vennesla, north of Kristiandsand Norway. Ever seens Maria could walk she has sung, but in a age of 10 she started to perform different places. When she was 13 she was discovered on a Christmas concert with "Frikirken" in Vennesla and one year later a manger contacted her and soon after that she got a contract. 16 years old she moved to Oslo to live with her manager. Marias first single was called "Can Let Go" and became a huge hit in Norway. "Just A Little Heartache" was her second single and it also became a hit. Along with these two singels, the song "In Love With An Angel" and "On And On" and her first album "Maria Arredondo" came out in 2002-2003. 60.000 albums where sold.

Maria had many great songwrites writing for her. One of them is Christian Ingebrigtsen (From A1). He heard a demo of Maria and decided to write for her. Christian wrote the duett "In Love With An Angel" to Maria, and they sang their way in to number 1 on VG-lista in Norway. It also became nominated for "Spellemannsprisen". Marias next single after that was "Hardly Hurts At All" which is a beautiful song. 

Summer 2004 another single "Mad Summer" came and it was a real summer-hit. Her first music video was recorded to this song. Then the ballad "Burning" came, which is a song that altmost everyone likes. The song is about a couple that doesn't seem to dare to take the first move and so on. 

November 8th her second album came out, "Not Going Under". 13 songs as "Mad Summer" and "Burning" where two of the songs. Summer of 2005 another single "Cross Every River" which is the 11th song on her album "Not Going Under". 

In November 2005 Maria had a Christmas album out "Min Jul". It's a collection of Maria singing Christmas carols and you can hear her voice in a different setting. Absolutely beautiful.

November 20th 2006 A whole new single came, it was also a Christmas song named "On Christmas Day". This is a song written by Laila Samulesen. Once again Maria shows us she knows what she's doing. 

Not long after "On Christmas Day" Maria went on a Christmas Tour with the artist Marianne Antonsen. 10 Concerts around the soth and east of Norway. The tour started in Vennesla and ended in Norderhov. On this tour they sang Christmas carols like "En Stjerne Skinner I Natt", "Himmel På Jord", "On Christmas Day", "Klagesang", "The Prayer" and a whole lot of other carols. 

In between the release of "Min Jul" and "On Christmas Day" Maria moved in with a friend in Nordstrand and got a boyfriend, Kristian Løvdal which lives on the East side of Oslo.

16th of August 2007, a single with the name "Brief And Beautiful" where realeased on the radio. It soon became a hit and climed the charts. The single came in stores 19th of August 2007. 

December 12th 2007 her fourth album came out in the stores, called "For A Moment". It contains 11 new songs and 2 tracs from her Christmas album. On of the songs that was on her album was the super hit "Brief And Beautiful".  Singles that also was released from this album was the songs "Kyrie Eleison" and "For A Moment".

After a long time with an well earned brake, Maria and Jan Johansen comes out with a song called "Ett sår i min själ", And it is known that the co-copertaion with maria and her manager ended shortly after "The sound if music" 2009.

She also belive her next album will be out next year.
